VIDEO COM VISIBILIDADE 360º

yellowBird camera

A variant of the yellowBird camera is being utilized within the Google Streetview technology. The prominent difference is that the yellowBird camera records video instead of photographs. The camera uses six cleverly divided lenses in order to capture every possible viewing direction. The data stream generated by the camera is impressive. Through a double glass-fiber connection, a stream of 1200 Mbit per second is captured and saved in an uncompressed format. Next to the camera, a surround sound microphone system enables to record audio at 96 khz as well.

The yellowbird camera can be utilized in a variety of ways. First of all, videos can be captured from a regular tripod. Additionally the camera can be setup within a steadycam suit and “float” above the head of the camera operator. Furthermore, multiple connections support the camera to be mounted on a car or under a helicopter.

yellowBird studio

The uncompressed footage retrieved from the camera is stitched to a single stream in our studio. Subsequently, the editing points are being determined, where color correction and sound editing takes place as well. Adding sound can consist of the audio stream recorded on the scene, but also background music or possible sound effects.

The output consists of a video with a progressive resolution of 3500 x 1750 pixels at 25 frames per second. This is almost twice the number of pixels compared to the best possible HD-TV specifications, which offers an interlaced resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. These videos can then be saved in any desirable format (for instance .mov/ .mp4/ .avi/ .dv). Generally, the .flv (Flash) format is chosen in order to optimize the video for flawless playback in the yellowBird player.

yellowBird player

Within the yellowBird player, the 3-D videos really come to life. The apparent normal Flash player offers a unique possibility to interactively watch 3-D content, offline or online and every single visitor is capable to choose a desired viewing direction. Like being there yourself and turning your head. Next to a highly intuitive interface, the yellowBird player offers sharing and embedding functionalities as well. Any visitor is capable of easily spreading the videos online.

By utilizing the Flash technology, the 3-D videos can be watched on 98% of all computers worldwide. The use of smart compression algorithms, even leads to flawless playback without temporary buffering on a standard broadband connection, in order not to break down the lifelike experience.

yellowBird hosting

In cooperation with Jet-stream, yellowBird has very powerful hosting facilities with ultra fast connections. Many advanced monitoring tools enable to adjust server capacity in real-time. If there is a particular blog in the US, which generates a lot of traffic, more server capacity will become available immediately in that particular region. As a result, many users can simultaneously expect the same high quality in streaming 3-D content worldwide.

Future updates regarding the yellowBird player will be centrally distributed across the server environment, so that all available videos will always use the most recent version of the yellowBird player automatically.
